A really old colored pencil drawing from my overly dramatic and symbolic phase. (C. 1999.)
If I remember correctly, the chalice is pouring out wine, fire, or blood. I believe that's a sunset in the background. It is, of course, open to interpretation. |

As is the solid lines of the chalice and its shadding.
The shadow of the chalice makes it look rather solid, non-opaque. A gray colour would have deffinitly worked better, and in shape of the chalice.
A possible sudgestion I have is a simple use of a darker/lighter shade of the colours behind it for a simple transparent look.
Of course, the overall meaning, or whatever it is that means to encorage deep though, of it is indeed very strong.
(Side note: Take own advice more often.)
